Hong Min Gi Controversy Escalates: Ex-Girlfriend Releases New Materials as Actor’s Agency Threatens Legal Action
TW: This article discusses allegations of dating violence, physical abuse, pregnancy and abortion.
The controversy surrounding 24-year-old South Korean actor Hong Min Gi continues to escalate, with his former girlfriend releasing additional materials she says support her allegations, while the actor and his agency strongly deny the claims and prepare to take legal action.
The woman, publicly referred to as A, has shared what she describes as an ultrasound image, medical documentation and photographs of injuries allegedly sustained during their relationship.
She has accused Hong Min Gi of dating violence, claiming that alleged incidents included choking, hair pulling, forceful pushing and other forms of physical aggression.
A has also claimed that some of the alleged violence occurred while she was recovering from an abortion.
Pregnancy and Abortion Allegations
According to A, she discovered she was pregnant around July 11 after taking a pregnancy test while at Hong Min Gi’s home.
She alleges that after learning about the pregnancy, Hong pressured her to terminate it and that she subsequently went alone to an obstetrics and gynecology clinic for the procedure.
A further claims that Hong later asked to end their relationship and cut off contact with her.
Hong Min Gi’s agency, Fable Company, strongly disputes this account.
The agency says Hong never saw a pregnancy test and never told A to have an abortion. It has also questioned the ultrasound image released by A and said it intends to seek professional medical verification of the material for possible use as legal evidence.
Fable Company additionally claims that on July 13 — the day A says she underwent the abortion procedure — she contacted Hong and asked him to go cycling with her. According to the agency, after he declined, she sent him a video showing herself riding alone.
The company says it has preserved the relevant conversations and video.
Allegations of Physical Violence
The dispute initially gained widespread attention after A published an image of a certified legal notice reportedly sent to Hong Min Gi and his agency.
According to reports, the document contained allegations that Hong threw a soju bottle onto the street, causing it to shatter, and that he yelled at A, struck or forcefully pushed her shoulder and grabbed her by the neck.
A later released additional photographs of injuries and further accounts of alleged violent incidents.
She has also shared a video that she claims shows Hong physically attacking her while under the influence of alcohol.
The authenticity and full context of the materials circulating online have not been independently established.
Hong Min Gi’s Side Accuses A of Stalking
Hong Min Gi has presented a very different account of the relationship.
According to Fable Company, the actor repeatedly made it clear that he did not want to continue the relationship, but A allegedly continued contacting him, asked to reconcile and eventually visited his home.
His side has described this behaviour as stalking and says legal action is being considered.
A strongly denies being a stalker.
She says she went to Hong’s home not to demand that they resume their relationship, but because she wanted an apology. She has accused the agency of attempting to portray her as a stalker and says she intends to respond through her lawyer and the courts.
Fable Company Announces Legal Action
Fable Company says the public allegations have caused serious and potentially irreparable damage to Hong Min Gi’s reputation.
The agency has announced that it intends to pursue legal action over what it describes as false information distributed through social media, including possible civil and criminal proceedings.
It is also considering action related to its allegations of stalking and defamation.
A, meanwhile, has also indicated that she intends to pursue the dispute legally.
The controversy has therefore moved beyond conflicting statements on social media and appears increasingly likely to become a legal battle.
Who Is Hong Min Gi?
Born in 2002, Hong Min Gi is a rising South Korean actor who began his acting career in 2020.
He has appeared in several Korean dramas, including Night Has Come, Love Your Enemy, Study Group, Crushology 101 and To My Beloved Thief.
His growing popularity has made the controversy particularly prominent across Korean entertainment media and international K-drama communities.
For now, however, the allegations involving pregnancy, abortion, physical violence and stalking remain disputed claims.
Hong Min Gi and his agency deny the accusations, while A continues to stand by her account.
Unless the evidence is independently verified or the dispute is resolved through legal proceedings, neither side’s version should be treated as an established judicial finding.
